The year is almost over, and as foretold we are on the road to announce our book of the year at the end of the week. Before we do that, however, we wanted to talk about some of the authors whose books we have reviewed and some of the things that we loved and tell you where we think you can find the best inspiration.
This has been quite the adventure. Since reviewing our first book in September, we have interacted with many authors and read many stories. Of the books that we found most intriguing, there was a common denominator. People wrote about their passions.
Some authors have had stories brewing in their minds for decades, while others let their interests guide them. They write about gems, spirits, magical worlds and so much more. One of the things we can say for certain is that the more of yourself that you put into your work, the more successful it will be. Don’t be afraid to show people who you are through your writing. Don’t be afraid to learn new things and show them to the world. If you are not passionate about what you are writing, then no one else will be either. Love what you write and write what you love, and we are sure that you will find people to love it with you.
Whenever we have read a work written without passion, it shows. Do not write because you have decided to be an author because you think anyone can do it or because you think it will be easy money. None of those things will make you successful. Write because you are passionate, write because the stories in your head will drive you mad if you don’t get them down on paper.
Basically, this is a thank you note to all of the authors whose books we have loved this year. We want to thank you for your passion and your hard work. We want to thank you for giving us and so many others a glimpse into the things you love, your passions and your minds. We wish you all the best, and we look forward to reading even more great books in 2017.
